Identity Theft Protection Tools
The FDIC has a comprehensive program on how consumers can protect themselves against online identity theft and other scams, including a video that runs for about three minutes that can be viewed at the following link: http://anon.vodium.com.edgesuite.net/anon.vodium/fdic/identitytheft/index.html.
Additionally, the Secretary of the Treasury John W. Snow launched a DVD from the Federal Trade Commission, Departments of Justice and Defense, the U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the American Bankers Association, National Association of Federal Credit Unions, the Consumer Data Industry Association, and the Florida Bankers Association. The DVD provides consumers with information on how to recognize identity theft, how they can protect themselves, and what they should do if they become a victim. There is also a video link within the press release, which is at the following link: http://www.treas.gov/press/releases/js3083.htm. |
